Assessment of habitat quality using macroinvertebrates and water quality parameters of a clay quarry wetland

In this study, it is aimed to determine the habitat quality of Bozalan quarry wetland by using diversity and a compositional index benthic macroinvertebrates some water parameters. The field studies were conducted in three sampling sites chosen times (March, April, May) 2018. standard multi-habitat method was used for benthos sampling. Besides, performed parameters measured in-situ analyzed laboratory reveal status wetland. Some values including Shannon Wiener (H′), Evenness Index (EI), BMWP-e calculated. results showed that categorized into higher classes (I II) general according criteria surface waters Turkey. Fourteen taxa identified. most dominant Coenagrion sp. (42.31%), Baetis rhodani (15.38%), Physella acuta (10%) study area. highest number individuals obtained March (62 ind./m2), meanwhile determined May (10 taxa). H′ reached its value (1.723), whereas lowest (1.054). score found (26), while April (16).
